Jóvenes en Acción/Youth in Action (JEA) is our year-round program for youth in grades 8–12, rooted in Afro-Latin arts and culture. JEA brings together three core components: Afro-Latin arts, education support and mentoring, and civic engagement and youth organizing, alongside dedicated social-emotional support, so that young people can grow as artists, students, leaders, and community members all at once.

During the summer session, JEA turns into a paid opportunity.

The school year sessions are open to the following youth: 

Enrolled in 8th grade or High School

Ages 13-19 (*Youth cannot turn 20 or older before June of the current school year)

Live or go to school in Boston

JEA School Year Schedule:

Fall Session: Sept. 22nd - Dec. 5th, 2025
Winter Session: Jan. 5th - Mar. 13th, 2026
Spring Session: Mar. 30th - Jun. 5th, 2026
