Wake Up The Earth is more than a festival— it is a remembering of who we are and where we came from. This year, HSTF staff, youth, and alumni collaborated to bring this very special performance to life. They created original songs and dances, crafted costumes out of banana leaves, corn husks, and paper, and spent countless hours making every detail count. This comparsa is rooted in the traditional carnival expressions of Cotuí, Dominican Republic, and it is truly a love letter to who we are and where we came from. Interested in seeing the performance for yourself? Our HSTF Ambassadors will be performing at the Museum of Fine Arts on June 20. Check it out!
