Hyde Square Task Force’s Musicians in Community (MIC) performed at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum on Friday, February 24th, as part of the museum’s school vacation week line-up.

Youth sang and played covers from some of their favorite artists. The eclectic set list included Celia Cruz, Adele, John Legend, Alessia Cara, Ben Harper, and Hiatus Kaiyote. They performed two 30-minute sets.

The teens received rousing applause. Afterward audience members complimented the young musicians. One patron shared that she was impressed by how beautifully they played. Many members of MIC had never picked up an instrument or sung a note before joining the leadership team at HSTF. Music Programs Coordinator Nick Perez works closely with them as they achieve mastery.
