During my first year at Hyde Square Task Force, I struggled. I was shy, and everyone seemed older than I was. I had to speak up and read books out loud to kids—that was hard because it seemed like everyone was looking at me.

HSTF puts youth in that position—they ask us to foster our own growth. But all that hard work was worth it: now I’m a second-year student at Bunker Hill Community College, and I’m getting ready to enter a nursing program.
