Local Youth that Exposed the TD Garden Noncompliance to Speak out

On July 13th, Hyde Square Task Force youth leaders made headlines when they discovered that a 24 year-old fundraising deal between TD Garden and the State’s recreational facilities had been forgotten. After the story was covered by the Boston Globe and several other mainstream media outlets, the question remains “what happens next?”

To answer this question, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, youth with Hyde Square Task Force will hold a press conference to express their outrage concerning the noncompliance by the TD Garden in relation to a 1993 Massachusetts law.

The press conference will be held at the Hyde Square Task Force Youth Community Development Center, located behind the Blessed Sacrament Church at 361 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain.

At the event, youth will also reveal their calculations in determining how much TD Garden owes the State of Massachusetts after 24 years of noncompliance.

PLEASE JOIN US IF YOU CAN MAKE IT!

For the last year, youth at Hyde Square Task Force have been diligently working on a campaign for the Jackson Square Recreation Center that was promised to Roxbury and Jamaica Plain youth over 15 years ago.
