Posted by Jessica Guzman in Blog with No Comments

Please join us on Monday, July 11, for a community meeting hosted by Hyde Square Task Force and the City of Boston to discuss two upcoming public art opportunities in Hyde Square.

In 2014, Mayor Walsh empowered young people by putting them in control of $1,000,000 of the city budget through a process called Youth Lead the Change. One of the projects funded was to create “Free Art Walls” in Boston, where anyone could contribute to the beautification of their neighborhood.

Mayor Walsh and the Boston Art Commission invite artists to submit their qualifications for a public art project to be integrated in conjunction with the City’s proposed design for the reconstruction of Hyde Square at the intersection of Centre Street, Perkins Street, and Day Street.into upcoming improvements to the f Hyde Square rotary. Please come to the meeting or visit for updates. Deadline: August 14, 2016.

Latin American Spectacle was amazing!

Posted by Jessica Guzman in Blog with No Comments

Dear Friends,

We hope you were able to make it to the Latin American Spectacle last weekend when over 50 of our youth leaders acted, danced, and sang alongside Double Edge Theatre and Charlestown Working Theater professionals in an unforgettable and awe inspiring production here in Boston’s Latin Quarter. If you missed it, see the photos and links below to get a feel for this amazing event and what we are up to here at Hyde Square Task Force.

The Spectacle brought a level of energy and artistic excellence to the Latin Quarter that we strive to make a norm in our neighborhood. We will continue where we left off with the Spectacle when we kick off our summer series, ¡Viva! el Latin Quarter, which offers 32 free public arts and cultural programs from June 21 through August 12. The 4-night per week series invites people to come together to enjoy theater, Zumba, concerts, and movies in the Hyde Square-Jackson Square neighborhood.

Bring your friends and family to celebrate Boston’s Latin Quarter this summer, where every night can be a spectacle…
