Highlights: Teens Craft "NO"
to Sexual Harrassment:
On August 25th, teens rallied in Jamaica Plain against the sexual
harassment they frequently experience on community streets and in their
schools, asking for their community’s support to end the offensive
behavior. The group designed post cards which say “please treat me with
respect” and which provide a list of actions considered harassment.
They are distributing them to area residents and stores in the Hyde
Square area. The event was covered widely in the Boston press. To learn more go to http://www.hydesquare.org/news_and_events/highlights/respect/respect_article.html Read Boston Globe and other press about the rally at: http://www.hydesquare.org/news_and_events/inthenews/html

Youth Art on Display: On the weekend of September 24 - 25, we are participating in Jamaica Plain Open Studios (http://www.jpopenstudios.com/) , a community-wide arts event that features the work of nearly 200 local artists. This year, we will be featuring the artistry of our youth, including the paintings by William “Seven” Che, spoken word by Sofia Snow, original hip-hop by Wandy Peguero, and dance by our teen Ritmo en Acción Youth Dance Troupe. You can also visit the community murals painted by our teens at Mozart Park and the Jackson Square T Station.
